The Samman is new. The Samity is not.

The Sikkim Biswakarma Kami Kalyan Samity was registered in 1977. The Biswakarma Pratibha Samman began in 2025. This is its second edition, 12 to 23 September 2026, Gangtok.

What pratibha means here

Pratibha here means craftsmanship, technical skill, enterprise and sustained labour, as well as academic achievement. That definition is the Samity's own, and it is why a blood donation camp and a youth assembly sit in the same programme as Maruni and bhajan.

The madal is made by this community, and so is the leather it is headed with. The emblem carries a khukuri and a madal, and neither is decoration.

The forty nine years belong to the organisation

The Samity's history runs from 1977. The Samman started in 2025. They are two different things and should not be run together. On the 1977 registration, 2027 is the Samity's fiftieth year.
